On Saturday, June 13th, S.O.S Bed-Stuy held the first Bed-Stuy Festival, packed with tablers, performers, neighbors and families, and more. Over 200 guests attended the festival which spanned the length of Lafayette Ave from Marcy to Tompkins as well as the interior of Von King Park. Performers of all ages took the stage to sing, rap, perform martial arts, and dance while promoting messages of piece and anti-violence. DJ Magic and DJ Styles provided music throughout the day and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams joined the S.O.S. team to deliver a Father’s Day proclamation honoring local fathers.
The event was also supported by Black Diamond$ social club, S.O.S volunteers and youth from Justice Community Plus, other Cure Violence sites including S.O.S. South Bronx, G.M.A.C.C., and Violence Out Brownsville, and the Department of Transportation.
