At this year’s Arts to End Violence Gallery Opening, we asked judges from throughout the community to select the pieces by youth artists that they felt best demonstrated the most powerful messaging, inspirational personal statements, aesthetics, and creativity. Congratulations to the following artists, whose work stood out to our judges!
Nefiree Bryan – Honorable Mention
Octavia Davis – Honorable Mention
Zipporah Fraser – Honorable Mention
Thank you again to everyone who submitted work to this show. The messages in your art about community building, anti-violence, peace, and healing were powerful, and your art was remarkable. We hope to see more work from you in the future!
If you’re interested in submitting art to next year’s gallery show, or if you’re interested in hosting an art workshop at your school next spring, contact Marlies Talay at talaym@crownheights.org or 718-619-4248.
