On Wednesday, July 22nd, S.O.S. and the Mediation Center hosted a fundraiser at Maxwell’s Restaurant & Bar, located at 259A Kingston Avenue. The venue was packed with supporters and neighbors who came to socialize and show support for the Center’s anti-violence and community building initiatives.

Folks from the Brownsville Justice Center, G.M.A.A.C., and Violence Out Brownsville were in attendance, as well as supporters from Brooklynian, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Fine Fare, the local discount store and barber shop by our office, and of course, many of our dedicated volunteers, neighbors, and family and friends.

Guests had the chance to win raffle prizes including S.O.S. t-shirts, water bottles and portable chargers, as well as prizes from Starbucks and gift cards to Modell’s. Pens, buttons, and stickers were handed out at the door to encourage everyone to help spread the anti-violence messages of S.O.S.
