Over 50 community members came out on Wednesday evening, December 28th, to stand up against gun violence at S.O.S. Crown Heights’ shooting response. The shooting response took place on St. John’s between Troy and Schenectedy. On Monday afternoon, a 26 year old man was shot four times at that exact location. A shooting response is a peaceful communal gathering where a shooting incident took place. The purpose of the response is to express our concerns and make a statement that shootings and killings are not acceptable in our community. Luckily the young man survived, but this incident emphasizes the importance of community mobilization, changing norms around gun-violence, and the work that S.O.S. does.

Thank you to the volunteers and community members for standing with us. #StopShootingStartLiving
