On Saturday, February 4th, the Crown Heights Community Mediation Center participated in Target First Saturdays at the Brooklyn Museum. Staff engaged with museum visitors, sharing information about the many different programs operating out of the Mediation Center and some of our upcoming events.

Visitors were able to learn about the programs and services the Mediation Center provides with a spotlight on our newest project, The Bed-Stuy Anti-Violence Project, focusing on Domestic Violence and creating and sustaining healthy relationships. Additionally, youth interns from Youth Organizing to Save Our Streets (YO S.O.S.) led an interactive activity with museum guests to guide them through healthy ways to de-escalate conflict including taking deep breaths, thinking about your future, and speaking with I-statements.

Attendees were encouraged to volunteer with various Mediation Center programs and to join our mailing list to stay up to date on our latest events. They also received public education materials and giveaways.

Thank you to the Brooklyn Museum for hosting us and for all those who came out and visited our table!
